For my mother-in-law's birthday this weekend, Newport Landing in Newport Beach made her cake. It was a yellow cake with excellent chocolate fudge frosting. The filling was wonderful: Fresh raspberries! Everyone was very happy with the lunch there and the dessert was, dare I say, icing on the cake. It was a fantastic way to celebrate.

My birthday was such fun -- thanks to all who made it so special. Yes, that cake was lucious and the fresh raspberries were a nice touch. I'm enjoying the memories of a great weekend in San Diego and kayaking in La Jolla, too. Seems like we had dessert after every meal -- cake, mud pie, flan with berries, and chocolate dipped strawberries were just some of the treats. Mary B.
